·        Use: versatile ornamental grass for accent, specimen, grouping or mass plantings; borders, meadows, wild gardens, cottage gardens; attracts birds

·        Care: cut foliage to ground in late winter

·        Concerns: no serious insect or disease problems

·        Native to: species native from Africa to the East Africa

·        Notes: superior orange-red fall color; compact, upright, clump-forming; fall color turns an attractive burgundy by winter; tolerates black walnut
