·         Care: plant shallow, 1/2 soil. Do not mulch heavily. Cut off spent flowers and remove flowering stem to the ground after blooming.

·         Concerns: too much moisture causes soft rot problems; iris borer

·         Native to: species native to Eastern Europe and Western Russia

·         Notes: fast growth rate; deer and rabbit resistant
