·        Height: 3-4 feet

·        Spread: 3-4 feet

·        Bloom Time: late spring to early summer

·        Bloom: inconspicuous, small, non-fruiting, white flowers; necessary for the pollination of the female plant

·        Light: full sun to part shade

·        Soil: adaptable to both light and heavy soils, but prefers moist, acidic, organic loams; good tolerance for poorly drained soils including wet boggy or swampy conditions; intolerant of alkaline soils which result in chlorosis (yellowing) of leaves

·        Moisture: medium to wet

·        Use: shrub border, hedge, foundation planting, low spots or along streams and ponds

·        Care: low maintenance; avoid pruning winterberry hollies; restrict pruning to early spring removal of dead or very old, non-vigorous branches since the shrub blooms on old wood; apply mulch around the root zone in exposed locations or colder microclimates

·        Concerns: no serious insect or disease problems

·        Notes: dwarf deciduous male holly shrub; slow-growing with upright, rounded habit; ideal for small spaces; foliage consists of elliptic, toothed, glossy, dark green leaves which are shed in early fall; since winterberries are dioecious (separate male and female plants); only fertilized female flowers will produce berries that are the signature of the species.; one Mr. Poppins® Winterberry shrub is sufficient to pollinate up to 5 Berry Poppins® Winterberry shrubs within a radius of 50 feet; deer resistant
