·        Care: cut stems back after flowering to promote continuous bloom; divide clumps when overcrowded (about every 4 years); leave some spent blooms in the fall because seeds provide winter food for finches and other birds

·        Concerns: no serious insect or disease problems if not subjected to water-logged conditions
