·        Bloom: whorls of two-lipped tubular violet-blue flowers on stiff, upright, silvery stems

·        Use: mass or specimen in borders; provide texture, color, and contrast in perennial and wild gardens; large containers; edges of dry stream beds; cut flower; attracts bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds

·        Care: cut back almost to the ground in late winter to early spring;  prune in spring when new growth appears, prune back to just above the lowest bud

·        Notes: compact, bushy, deciduous perennial; well-branched woody stems clad with aromatic, silvery gray-green foliage; stems provide winter interest; delicate-looking, but tough-- withstands wind and rain; long-blooming; salt tolerant; deer and rabbit resistant
